Really feel for the young girl. Just terrible. I just hate guns. I've only ever touched a couple of real riffles because a friend of mine was a part time army dude ... I didn't even hold them correctly because I didn't want to and that upset him a little. Just something I don't want to be part of. Pete
Ex defense forces, you have to learn to handle them, never touched one since, I'd shoot everyone if I had one
There is/was a shooters haven at the GC shopping mall, went there with a group of guys and partners after a Porsche level 3/4 session at Q.Raceway Big hand guns lots of fun; when the noise stopped and the smoke died down the girls scored the best.
Video footage of the shooting and a little information. Totally understand how it happened now. Girl, 9, kills instructor during shooting lesson - Video on TODAY.com
yep...shocking, isn't it? Guns are for one thing....killing. That's what they were invented for....and they're very good at it. Having said that, one of the funniest things in my life EVER was watching Wes shoot skeet.....not that he did I can see the appeal as a sport, but a 9yo? sheesh
I don't totally understand how it happened. My guess is a combination of typical modern parents who care more about posting a cool video of their kids on social media than virtually anything else (see the appalling case of the poor little girl in Adelaide who was forced to ride a motorbike around while her parents filmed it until she fell off so many times her injuries ultimately killed her), And a completely ****ed up, pathetic, childish attitude to guns But hey, don't anyone ever dare question it?! ****ing moronic in every respect
She couldn't control the recoil and, as they gun turned towards the instructor, her finger stayed on the trigger with the gun set to auto.
Don't worry, youngsters can still involve themselves in somewhat more wholesome pursuits. Grace Clifford won the ABC Young Performers Award tonight in Sydney. An amazing performance. Arts: Sydney violinist Grace Clifford, 15, set to take on Australia's best musicians
Coincidentally, when we were in the US and went to a shooting range, the package my wife picked (which she selected for the Glock handgun so she could feel like an FBI agent) included an Uzi like this little girl had. When that came up, the instructor handed her a different gun (H-K MP5, I think) and she said "I thought I was supposed to get an Uzi?". The instructor said "Do you REALLY want to shoot the Uzi?" and explained that because of the size and shape, it's very difficult to handle and that he'd let her try it but to be extra aware and he'd be close by ready to take it off her in the event of any problems. She declined, and stuck with the MP5.
