Glad I've got a UK car.

    Prices approaching £100k there. :)

Gosh, why, we wouldn't want a major service to be half their value would we?

    $50k

On a good day it would be $25k. Usually they're around $60k becuase such a service would encompass an engine rebuild :)

I've been tracking the 355 for the last year and a half, on car sales only I might add.
There are only a handful listed compared to over 12 for a long while.

Australian delivered car still managed to get over $120k for a good unit.
Recently there were two red ones asking around $100k but seems a bit rough on the edges.

So I think they are due to go up in value due to demand and supply.

It is a brave call to think that modern high-production Ferraris have any investment possibility.

The current market has barely discovered 308's and, when the tide inevitably goes back out, all but the glass dry sump versions will be sucking air.

This market comes around every 25 years or so, 355's might be the subject of manic buying in 2040, but unlikely before.

As we all know, asking prices rarely (if ever) equal sale price. We can only speculate how much these examples sold for. I for one, know that a perfectly acceptable 355 sold last year down in Canberra for $80k, and of a couple of others which were taken off the market due to the sellers' unrealistic expectations and belief that prices were actually going up. I paid low 50s for my last Ferrari (not 355) which was a decent Oz delivered example with a high 80s initial price.

    I agree with IanB's assessment.

Condition of the example in question is pretty much the sole determinant of price in a mass produced Ferrari that is now 20-25 years old. Even a relatively minor service will be circa 10% of the value of the car.
IMHO the 355 will never be collectible, same for all the V8 models afterwards.

I was offered a 355B from a Melb dealer last year for 65k...imported yes, but looked ok. When I quickly lifted it, it suddenly had 'finance issues' on the trade involved and eventually traded for 75 so I heard. Sports Leisure Vehicles in Melb. F*cking C*nts...don't go near them.

It is VERY fortunate that I haven't had anything to drink tonight.

I will eventually be writing and making public my experiences with them.
Will probably set up a website...

For now all I will say is you are SPOT ON with your description.
Do not go near them. You wouldn't send your worst enemy there. Really.

I know. I had to let events run their course. And now they have.

As soon as I clarify one or two things from the perspective of what I can and can't publish I'll do it.

For now suffice to say, do not under any circumstances deal with that bunch of...

Yeah yeah. It had kind of gone on the back burner a bit, but just seeing their name again has fired me up. As I say, it's lucky I'm sober or there'd probably be a very lengthy completely illegible post here with most of the words bleeped out!

Fortunately I kept VERY good records of everything that happened. I have every email, letter, records of phone conversations...everything.

All I need to do is publish all of that and people will be able to make up their own minds.
