Jon, unfortunately I lost my entire Lamborghini database in 2001 (Should have done a back up I know) but here is what little I have on the car. You could contact Mark J from Oldtimer Australia, he owned it for some time if you wanted to know more.

Oldtimer Australia, classic cars, racing cars, sports cars

    This is what I have:

    #3946
    Engine: #2904
    Build # 335
    Completed 14/5/1969
    Green with black leather
    Factory RHD
    First owner: Lamborghini Concessionaires UK

Unfortunately I know nothing of its history until about 2010/11 when Mark purchased the car in the UK. He shipped it to Gary Bobileff in SD where it was restored. Mark then took it to Concorso Italiano in 2013 where it won best of show:

    Any updates/corrections/more pictures always welcome!

Mark sold it not that long ago. I'm surprised it's back on the market so quickly, but then again they are much better to look at than drive.

It's currently not for sale, in the personal collection of George N. Mark did the right thing and just went out and bought another one. The Ex EMD car from Victoria.

Like many cars from the 1960s and 1970s, most are very poorly set up and have suffered years of neglect and indifferent maintenance. A well sorted Miura is a very nice car, very tactile with an amazing engine note. They are surprisingly big however, same length as a Daytona, 1cm wider and the wheelbase is about 10cm longer. That low roofline is deceptive.

You raise three really good points Carl........firstly, almost any exotic needs to be well set up for it to drive well....it just needs a few issues to really dampen the experience.....mainly b/c they aren't easy to drive well and any issue is amplified compared to a mundane car....secondly, lambo's nearly always get a bad rap for being inferior to Ferraris. When I grew up during the 70's and 80's, I nearly exclusively read Car magazine and Supercar Classics and the journo's at the time (Mel Nichols and Steve Cropley) were nearly always pro-lambo .......thirdly, comparing the size of the Miura to the Daytona made me recalled a road test in Supercar Classics (July 88) where they photographed the pair together that show just how similar in size the two rivals were.....and for once, the lime green Miura SV was judged as the better classic/exotic b/c although the Daytona was the better car overall, as a weekend play thing, the SV was better braked, turned in better, lighter to drive and just plain more exciting as a collector car.

I have had the good fortune to drive most of the iconic Lambos and there is no doubt they have an edge in terms of excitement and occasion.

But I was always happy to get out of them after 20 minutes and never remotely tempted to buy. Apart from anything else, they are not hot climate cars.

In the 80's Miuras were 308 money, wildly more exotic, but more trouble than they were worth.

Of course in hindsight, I should have bought the red over gold Miura for the 60K the owner was asking... now an LP400 remains on my bucket list, but I'll have to work a bit harder and longer to get there. :(

I've never hankered for a Lambo except for a LP 400 (orange please) and a P300 Urraco/Silhouette but doesn't mean I don't appreciate them for what they are.
Thats the key to a Lambo-to understand that they are special occasion cars that you got to be in the mood to drive. When you do, the peaks are higher........you do raise another good point Ian.....whether the car suits our hot climate. I simply do not enjoy my car on a hot summers day....however, the evening is a different matter.
