Hi Gents, 24-29 May 2015 - Gold Coast I am arranging to go to this from Melbourne. Haven't decided to freight car or drive yet. If we can get a group of cars driving up over three days (two nights) I will drive. Message me if you are interested in driving up. Cheers Barks
Just reading the on line "Horsepower" 2015 National Rally FTD Trophy went to Scott Hookey 458SA 2.19.91 Mark Griffith in a 430GT3 did 2.13.77 Can anyone explain?
I thought it didn't matter if it was a racing car or not? I asked here once before if anyone can rock up with the fastest racing car and win the day and I was told 'yes'.
I remember some jerk turning up to a rally in VIC with an unregistered F40 in the late 80's and winning FTD.
So were were all of these in Sydney 2014 1 98 Paul Van Leonhout Paul Van Leonhout Ferrari 9 1 1:56.5730* 2 37 Rob Smith Rob Smith F458 Challenge 4580 M7 12 8 2:02.7880 0:06.2150 3 8 Danny Ciarma Danny Ciarma F430 GT3 4308 M5 16 14 2:03.6130 0:07.0400 4 3 Alex Capewell Alex Capewell 458 GT3 4580 M7 4 3 2:04.5770 0:08.0040 5 13 Colin Capewell Colin Capewell 458 GT3 4580 M7 6 5 2:08.3250 0:11.7520 Paul got FTD
PP chimed in at the time (as he does) - I'm surprised he hasn't here. A good point FTD = FTD and you race what you brung.
I'm always the fastest 355, but luckily I didn't have a license for this rally so it was left to others to get those $50 trophies
I dunno, perhaps he knew he was going to be fastest and declined to participate in the podium for that reason, just having it posted was probably enuff!?!? Sportsmanship and all that sort of thing.
I've been busy. It was ridiculous. As long as I've been a member, the fastest Ferrari wins FTD, and then there are class wins. Doesn't matter if it's a 250 or an F1 car....as long as it fits in with the rules, it wins if it's the fastest (or bribes the winton timer) For that race car not to have won FTD is another typical FCA Qld screw up....I've heard of so many! This is a disgrace.
Why not ask the man himself? I think he was a sponsor so that may have excluded him or he might be a very honorable bloke who excluded himself from the 'honours'.
for NTGG, I'm thinking of combining karting with clay pidgeon shooting. What could possibly go wrong?
