    I have what appears to be a discolouration on 1 rim which may be a surface coating coming away. If I scrape it a little with my finger nail it appears small silver filings come off

    Has anyone had the same problem and does anyone know the best place to take this to be looked at it Perth WA ?

    Jon, any chance of an image?

    Possibly some reaction to the primer or worse, porosity. What rim is it? If it's a 1981 or earlier wheel they had a fair amount of magnesium and if it's one of those it may be beyond redemption (As once the corrosion gets into the wheel it doesn't stop)

    I'm 6'4" and built like a brickS#$thouse and am quite aware of my surname,as somewhat back my grandfather had the forsight to escape Germany,prior to the meglomaniac coming to power,decimating my religion.
