    I know some of you are into these, especially IanB. I went to Sandown yesterday for the Falcon GT National Rally. It's a biannual event. Lots of cars, the attention to detail was quite striking for some of the entrants in the concours section.

    Lot's of Phase IIIs there, I counted about 1,800 out of the original production of 300!


    Some pics.... The last one is a 1968 XT GT which is a one owner car, it was spectacular.

    Very partial to a Reef Green XW,like the one I saw at a Townsville show in 2001,for sale @ $30000....DOH!

    but fair.

    Saw a few Jim Beam and AC/DC T-Shirts as well.

    Interesting demographic, lots of young people, as in people under 30. A few hipster beards too! Quite the opposite to the old cheesdusters active in the other clubs of which I am associated. A few cars have been handed down through a generation or two as well.

    I met a few people who'd been around them all their lives mainly through a dealership or competition association. They were very interesting to speak with. The gym owners, not so much.

    I think so Wes, if so, pretty sure the colour is "Surfer Orange"

    just checked, Surfer orange was available for both XW and XY GT's, but only 2 XY GT's (not HO's) were built with that colour.

    So the car in the pic has been repainted in a non-original colour.

    Just curious, why do you say it's been repainted, could it not be one of the two original XY Gts?

    That's an XB GT. Looks great in its period colour with the Bathurst Globe wheels.

    According to your (very interesting) corporate colours link, there were 2 XW's painted in Shell Yellow, the only yellow of any shade on GT's.

    So the car at the show must be one of those two.
