Saw car torque on channel one today and it featured a red 275 gtb/4 in vic I think. Big night last night so was half asleep. Got me thinking, any idea on the rough numbers of 275 gtbs in Aus?
Well the 'ex Davis ' car comes to mind..... Was it a 275 GTB/C???and how old was the show/programme? Aussie DOES have a healthy number or 275's still around.
We had a silver one here in QLD, has that gone as well ? Marc Jones had a couple wrapped in clear wrap for export a couple of years ago so they are gone
It was definitely a gtb/4. Had a full rotisserie rebuild and originally a light bluish colour. Show is probably about 12 months old.

Noob question. Is the top red one a long wheel base with the bottom red one being a swb? Still haven't figured out the quickest way to tell the difference besides the door windows being a little lower and more slender on the lwb?
All 275's have the same wheelbase, the principle body difference is the length of the nose (plus boot hinges and other minor things). Then you have steel vs alloy bodies, although there are few visual clues to these. All the cars in the photos are 2 cam long-noses. The grey one is a 6 carby version, more desirable than the standard 3 carb.
And one Vic GTB/4 that is currently in NZ for restoration......... the aforementioned "ex-Davis" car.
The GTB/4 is easily identified by the long bonnet bulge. The alloy bodied cars are identified by the roof rain channel that extends back to the rear window on the alloy cars. I believe that was to camouflage the seam where the roof panel met the C pillar. To many eyes (including mine) the original short nose is the more pure design. From memory it suffered from Aerodynamic lift at high speed so the long nose design was introduced as a fix. Most short nose cars have the so called "starburst" wheels.
I heard this as well. And I was also told one of the Victorian 275's was sold to the UK in the second half of last year, perhaps the chap was referring to the (same) car that is in NZ. M
I sure hope not, once it's gone it ain't coming back. At todays insane prices who could blame them though? To think I had a hard time selling that car in 1995 (?) The only serious person who responded to the Ad bought it.
Does anyone know if the ex Bob Miller (Lexcen) 275 is still around? It was the second Ferrari I'd ever driven after the same owners 250Pf. The 275 got bent in a Brookvale parking lot - repaired, though.
#7243 Went to QLD, the same chap who has my old Grp4 Stratos. My understanding is now left the country. Did you realise it was a LHD conversion?

The 1st car is a long nose, now in VIC. Originally dark blue, owned by a bloke I worked with in the early 80's, he swapped it for a 246! The other 2 are short noses, unfortunately the yellow one was restored with the wrong shape nose and a hideous (non original) external fuel filler. Not one of CM's better moments, the car went back to the US.
