    I've had some weird things happen with my cars over the years... today I went to open the 500s engine cover and no go - stuck fast; but on what I have no idea... The original latch was removed when the car was Abarth'd and the lid is kept closed with 2 rubber latches on the outside. Too little light to start pulling things apart but I hope I can get a look tomorrow by taking off the vent grille above engine cover. Bloody hell...

    Turned out just the rubber strip had 'stuck' to the lid - no idea why this would suddenly happen for the first time in 30 something years of ownership! Came unstuck when I unscrewed the panel above which made just enough movement to pop the lid...

    after seeing how well you look after your 308, I'd be suspecting lack of maintenance.
