Sadly, I'm going to do a road trip with IanB. We're driving to Brisbane for the rally. I hope he can keep his hands off my knob. Time will tell!

Let's have a poll, what car should I take? Bearing in mind we are heading to the rally to judge the concourse, not participating as such, so we don't have to turn up in an Fcar. I'll give you a few choices:

    1. 1974 280 SE
    2. 1985 308 GTS Quattrovalvole
    3. 1987 3.2 Carrera
    4. 1990 Ford Capri

I do have 7 other cars, but the above are the only ones running :)

    You decide Ian's ride!

At least the Capri is a real convertible and not a chopper fake! Ian won't know what to do with himself.

I thought you and Ian where flying there.

Merc would be the most comfortable and practical. Nice car that, I still have one of it's oil leaks on my otherwise pristine driveway as a reminder of your last visit.

Ferrari is the most appropriate. Might not get there though, well not before the rally is over. And Ian wining about not being in a FEHOS might get tiresome....

Porsche would be, well simply wrong for an FCA concourse judge but likely to get you there. Asking Ian to check the radiator level at every petrol stop should prove entertaining, and the sound of Ian's constant whining about being in a REHOS Porsche would serve to keep you awake on the long trip.

    You own a Capri ?

Simon, amazingly, it looks like the Capri is the winner at this stage! I assume you don't need the tyre, so I'll take it off.

BTW, your wheel didn't come with books and tools, are you sure you still want it, or should I just chuck it out, where it belongs, really.

    Oh gee, that's original.

I see the old Mercedes hasn't secured any votes. Perhaps everyone knows you've been in it before. And in the back seat. Actually, it's the car I'd like to bring, it's really nice on the highway.

Nahhh, decided to do a road trip, sort of a bonding exercise!

You must be blind, I've never driven that Benz to the ACT, the one I did drive to visit you was this one, and, it certainly does not leak oil. Must have been the 355 there instead.

I bought it from the original owner, or at least, her estate!

Here it is parked outside a very famous persons house in Toorak.

The Capri is great, very whomosexual, a tidy one owner car. Your suggestions are noted, have until tomorrow to see which way the poll swings.

I voted for the Benz. It's the car you drive when you're pretending to be straight :)
