Perhaps a simple case of oversite/forgetfulness? I know it happens to me......................constantly,now that I'm over 55.
On the subject,I know, through many discussions, with my limited circle of friends, that most are very wary of giving to national/international charities. Perhaps it's a bushy thing, you don't actually know where your donation ends up. There,I'm sure are ways of finding out the percentages involved in the breakup... ATM most donations in my neck of the woods are going directly to the victims of the Ravenshoe blast. The councilor I regularly have coffee with, has set up a bank account, there are 2 signatories and a commitee who delegate the funds,in the form of equipment, airfares, motel and any other legitimate expenses...BUT in most cases,no cash.
my brother worked for many years for UNHCR (United Nation High Commission For Refugees) in Geneva. Knowing what goes on behind the scenes I highly recommend not to donate to this organisation. On that basis I do not donate to any organisation of this sort, there are better ways to spend your money on community needs.
Thanks Wes, my memory was way laid by other legal matters ...... I'll know better than to be tempted by Phil again
