Anyone else planning on going to the F1 in Melb?
Been to the F1 before man? I love it, really enjoy the weekend. And I get to catch up with my favourite Mexicans while I am at it. That's the best part. Not too sure if I will make it next year yet, but will let ya's know if I do. Went in 2013, but that was more a family holiday. I was meant to go last year also but I left it too late to book my holidays so I missed out. Holidays are still available for next year, so I will see what the plan is later in the year and decide from there.
I booked my tickets for Jodi and I last night via the FCA. I wanted to get in early to get a spot in the cavalcade as Jodi is super keen to drive the track! It's going to be a bit of a road trip, because from the GP, I'm (hopefully!) carrying on to the targa tas. to test my map reading skills!
I was there in 2013 and watched a 456 spin around 180 on the Ferrari 'parade lap'. Not sure what he was doing, but luckily he didn't put it into the wall. Watching the Ferraris fly down the main straight was pretty cool and something I would love to do in my car one day. *By the time I take it down to Melb one day to do it, they will probably have cancelled the parade lap because of some legal reason*
Cool man!! You're a lucky boy. Taking the 456 and the family? Or only you and Jodi in the 430? Either way you are both going to have some great fun.
Very good!! If my a/c was working I was going to drive my 348 to Alice Springs tomorrow for the Red Centre Nats. But it's not and it's getting quite warm out here now. The thought of driving 1160 km's in a hot Ferrari doesn't excite me. Would have been a quick trip but. That would have been a good run to see if I could actually cope with sitting in that car for more than an two hours which has the been the longest I have driven in my 348 before. If I could drive long distances in that car and be half comfortable, then I would plan more road trips with that car. My Brother is driving over in his BMW 750Li, so I might just kick back in the back of that tank and sleep.
I'll be there, driving down. The package the FCA has put together for members is an even better deal than last year and will sell out quickly. This year we started with a 60 person suite, then as bookings came in we managed to increase the size to 90, then 120 and in the end to 140 pax capacity. The Skydeck lounge is a fixed size because the adjacent suites are all taken by corporates, so once it's full, that's it. The Skydeck lounge we have secured has both an inside and outside viewing area and offers a better view than the F1 Paddock club Skydeck Lounge Private | 2016 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix Grand Prix You can see the suite we had this year here: Grand Prix M
Jodi has a friend in melb and she is hoping they can hang out with her while we are at the track. OR, if you take your lovely family down, the kids can lose their minds together!
They certainly don't sound like V8 supercars, and I think they sound incredible....albeit not like they used to. At least you'd save a fortune on ear plugs. No longer needed.
I haven't heard them live yet, but I'm hoping they sound the goods! I'm glad you don't need ear plugs. The only other time I've seen the F1 was the first time they held it in Melb. and the noise without ear plugs was almost painful.
I hopefully can make it to the F1 I hope the sound doesn't disappoint but the presence of Ferrari will make up for it..... Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
