For looks alone, the 575. Remains a beautiful design whereas I've never enjoyed the looks of the 599.
wow...I'm the exact opposite...never liked the supra wannabe. But, it's varying opinions that make the world go 'round
I probably should have said that I've driven both, and the 599 is a significantly better car to drive. Gearbox works better, suspension and brakes are better and the interior is much more luxurious. I guess anyone making a choice without having driven them both can only do so on looks. Pity. (even though I think the 599 looks better)
I remember on the last FCA drive day I went on, I spoke to Ray Delaney and he said the same thing about comparing a 550 to a 599-no comparison, 599 is a much better car. Having said that, I'd still take the 550/575 over a 599. It looks so much better to these eyes and I drive like a old man anyway..... I think a 575 is plenty fast enough and I like the look of Supra's anyway. As I said before, they share the same designer. I'm too old to drive 308's.........or is it that I grew up? Did anyone notice that a 308 GTS was voted fourth coolest car in Top Gear Australia mag? I didn't see a 550/575 on that list. Poor me.
well duh...and that's my point...if they're the same price...which would you buy? Neither is a classic...neither ever will be (IMO) I prefer the looks of the 599 AND everything about it is 'better'...including the noise...so for me, it's a no brainer which i'll buy....when i'm old enough.
I agree - it annoys me that cars in general and Ferraris in particular have been getting bigger and bigger. Is there a pic of a 550/575 next to a 599?
Couldn't you mount a similar argument about a steel 308/328 versus a 360......a 360 drives better and as for looks, well I'm from a generation that much prefers the looks of a 308 but I know a lot under 30 year olds that MUCH prefer the looks of a 360. Anyway, what defines a classic?
599 is a technically superior car but in my oppinion is a very big car and not as attractive as a 575. I love the bonnet scoop and shark gills. Personally the biggest turn off for all new ferraris is the new interiors. Way too space age for me.
