Last sort of old school front engined V12 Ferrari, introduction of turbos, looks, drive - all that adds up to a very special and valuable car. I would still have a 599 over an F12. Just a pure bred Ferrari and they were bound to appreciate at some point.
I have to look hard to enjoy the shape of an f12. Whereas the 599 ' shape is easy to like. (Subjective of course ) Usually ferraris depreciate a lot longer than 10 years.
If the 575 is a $400K car now, what's a 599 worth?? $600K+?? Near new car prices again just like the 575?
Are they selling for these prices? Maybe its a supply and demand thing? I know I just tried to trade my 550M Red / Crema interior all books and service history on the black challenge stradale that Duttons had. They wanted 385K for the Stradale and would only give me 180K for the Maranello. I said no thanks.
of course not, Greg is just making a funny. I suspect that not much has changed in the relative pricing of 550/575's and 599's. They've been about $100K apart for quite a while. Realistically, a 599 could be had now for early 300's and 575's for early 200's. When I was shopping in 2014, a Sydney specialist said "make me an offer with a 2 in front of it" on a red/tan 599. I drove it but didn't like the red or the ugly star wheels, so passed. I'm tempted to post my driving impressions of both cars, but PP will jump on anything I say, so "buy your own"
Technically for sure, except it's double the size and in my opinion not as pretty. But hey , we've been down this track before.
