This was day 1. Not all that exciting, but it was the start of better things to come!
Where are you going from Albury? I often drove the following roads when I was working in that part of the state. I would suggest stay off the Highway and head to Wagga via Henti long strait roads, a few trucks but the locals travel briskly on these. Then north to Temora and Lowes Aviation Museum From there head up to either West Wyalong and on to Dubbo via the Newel Highway. Trucks and cops are the issue there, OR head to Cowra and upto Dubbo via Conountra Molong and Wellington there all good roads with some roadworks? I would recommend loading WAZE on you phone and plug it into power. Helpful at identifying "hazards" and it helps other people using It when you identify a hazard Another tip NSW uses mobile Tax collectors ( speed cameras)they are all Falcon Utes with a cab and the little signs up to tell you they are checking your speed. Keeps good look out well ahead. They are short range so can usually be spotted. I have seen them on short straights on undulating roads so keep that in mind. Above all enjoy to drive.
It's best not to publicly advertise the route the 2 GG's take on an open forum..... ....something I get in trouble for ....
This was day 2. I think there was a straight bit of road somewhere.....but I don't remember where. Car is handling like a dream. No one's broken down! (yet)
I was very impressed by the amount of VWs on the trip. God do I want a 996 now, just have to wait for PP or Carl to get bored of their cars.
Let me tell you, there was not even the most fleeting thought in my head that I wished I'd taken the 911.
