    Hi,

I have a Ferrari 360 and my Queensland personalised plate is rigid. As the front of the 360 is curved, only a small portion of the plate makes contact with the bumper. I've tried attaching it with double-sided tape, but the plate keeps falling. The double-sided tape method works fine for the rear plate, though.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Is there any sort of adapter for that?

    Thanks,
    Gabriel.

    Same problem, however different car.

I had a custom aluminium mount designed and made for the front of my Porsche 997 911. Plates are Queensland Prestige Plates.

It was very well made, however took 16 weeks and I am a little embarrassed to say how much it cost.

If you're not in a hurry could be a solution for you.

I have had a vinyl reflective sticker made up for the front of the 550, I know it's not legal but probably not a serious issue.

On my 360 I used heavy duty grip tape with dual fasteners from 3M. Like Velcro but a lot stronger! Double sided taped to the bumper and the number plate you can pry off the plate with some care multiple times for when you wash the car.

When I bought my 456 there were no screw holes in either front or rear. I wanted plate covers so I made a 2" wide aluminium bracket that matched the shape of the front bumper with z ends to allow another flat plate to bolt to. Double side tape to attach.

au-yt, that is more or less the kind of solution I am looking for: double-sided tape on a bracket and license plate on a bracket. How did you fabricate that?

MAD828, could you elaborate on the fasteners you used (name?). That seems to be another solution.

    Thanks in advance.

I had a plastic sticky on the front body - with the front hard plate on the floor LHS.
Got shaken out once - showed them the real plate under my wife's heels & legs.
"Thankyou sir, very nice" don't know if it was the carpet or the correct plate.

I did use Hilocks with K nuts.
    50mm x 3mm strip ally from Bunnings.

The Bunnings ally is actually reasonably stiff, making the brackets I hand bent the curved section over a piece of 100mm tube in small steps checking it against the car at each stage. Good idea is identify the centre of the bumper and mark on a piece of tape, and mark the strip to align with the mark on the bumper, that way your not chasing the curve. The z ends with wood in a vice.
It did take two goes to get it to where I was happy.

Buy two lengths you'll probably muck up the first one.
If you know someone with folder that would be even a better way to do it.
Make cardboard templates of the the profile will also assist. Good luck and post some pictures.

Yeah, that would be the perfect solution... Money is not an issue... Afterall, I have a Ferrari, not a Yaris... LOL

I look like a noob now, posting my question here before Googling to see if there are solutions for this, and of course there are:

    Dynamic Technology Group

    https://www.amazon.com/Ferrari-License-360-458-Testarossa/dp/B018MHWIT8

These solutions are attached to the tow hook, so the license plate is not at its original location, but displaced. I don't know if it is legal in Australia. Any thoughts?

I also found several resellers for the solution you linked.

Has to be visible at a 45 degree angle from left and right and above at a distance of 20 metres. This keeps our roadside photographers happy..

Hi Gabe see how you go with the holder. I gently bent the plates to the curve of my 550 and 360 at the front and then used double sided 3 M tape. The plates bend nicely at the front as the are light guage and once on, you can't tell as they match the curve of the bumper. Mine have been on for over 5 years now and are still rock solid. Sorry have been busy with work so have only just seen the thread. Good Luck!

I have a Ferrari AND a Yaris! Much more chuckable into a wet roundabout than the Ferrari.

Maranello550, please see the picture at my first post. The "Prestige" QLD license plate is rigid, impossible to bent.
