Well, despite the weather looking bad, I got the chance to go for a spin in 458 on the weekend. A few other nice cars too. Fortunately, the rain stayed away for the main part; we also had some road to ourselves. I haven't driven a lot of Ferrari's, but the experience was quite similar to the F430. Everything was just harder, faster, better, wetter, stronger, if you know what I mean. The acceleration was awesome! And those downshifts! Man! Once surprise was the Alpha 4c. Although - it probably shouldn't be, considering the reviews I've read. I got out of that with a massive smile on my face. Although it couldn't keep up with the bigger cars on the longer sections, it was amazing in the corners. The feedback was great, it was all 'twitchy' but still instilled confidence. I could feel it moving on a couple of the wet areas, but it managed to push through them... What a bunch of fun. You lucky guys that own some of these cars should pinch yourself occasionally and make sure you don't take them for granted. Either that, or make sure you do the philanthropic thing and let a couple of us keep the tires warm for you every now and then.
Great to hear big Perm! Any pics of the 458? I was extremely fortunate to drive a friends new 458 in 2011. What an amazing car indeed! Definitely a car I would love to have in my garage one day.
Being V12 owning ROF I would like to experience a 458 to experience what the fuss was all about. I was interested in your comments about the 4C, sort of reminds me in concept of the original X1/9. Neither car got it right, one looks good but lacking in power. The other (4C) is ugly but has adequate power.
Definitely buy a 458 Wes, I highly recommend it. My bank balance? Lol, Pappy is flat broke bruss! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Funny thing is I'm still busting to drive a FEHOS. you'd be surprised at the things i would do to get in a 599. As for the looks - I also reckon the 4c is a good looker. Low and wide. I actaully nicked the grass a couple of times cause the width is a bit deceptive. Apart from the looks, the other guys all got out with a big grin on their face too. It really was a heap of fun. The weight - or lack of it really shines through. I need to close the carsales app before the Mrs gets too suspicious Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
I have had exotic cars for nearly 30 years if you buy one don't sell it, bar a lotto win you won't get one back. And remember the Moto your better to ask forgiveness than permission. A great proberb "Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now."
Ha. So true. Seems to be a bit of a recurring theme around here. Here you go Pap. I'll even stick my ugly mug in there for you. Image Unavailable, Please Login
