Hi would any Fchat members know any history of my car prior to 1992? The history and details that I know are: It's a 1982 308 GTSi Engine no F106B 0400 2252 Vin ZFFNA02D000041243. The car was serviced by SVM in Sydney until 1986. ( see pics below ) It then was serviced in 1992 by Paul Pase on behalf of Dutton Jeffery P/L. Mark Coffey of Dutton Jeffrey's P/L then sold it to Henry Veronese in Tasmania in late 1992. Henry then sold the car to Peter Harding of York WA through Duttons in 2002. Peter then sold the car to Dennis of Trayning WA in 2008. Peter Harding one of our Fchat members was tragically killed in a microlight crash in 2009. I bought the car mid last year in 2016. All I know is a wealthy person from QLD was the second owner and traded this car with others on a car Duttons had in 1992. I have spoken to Mark of Maranello Motorsport and he can't remember. I can't find the person in Sydney as it was purchased by a company that no longer exists. Would anyone be able to help me fill in the 10 year gap? Many thanks. Gary I recall that car well, and if it's as good as when I last saw it in 2002 then you have a lovely example. Does it still have the customised air conditioning centre console vents? Whoever made that console did a very nice job. I'll have a look in my files, I think I have a few images of it from back then. It had TRX rims fitted at the time but I recall Peter fitting the 16" rims soon after purchase. I cannot fill in any of the history pre 1992 however. Unless A.O. Dutton P/L had an arrangement with Maranello Motorsport, the car was sold by the latter to Peter Harding in 2002. At the time Peter had arranged to view the car, Maranello Motorsport had a race commitment that weekend so they dumped the car with me for the weekend for Peter to view. (My shop was about 200 meters away from them). Peter subsequently purchased the car and we kept up an email correspondence until that fateful day in 2009. Good luck with the car and locating its early history.
It's left full for a reason, so KKs can't PM all day and request information on cars. It ended up being 2 hours a day spent on a totally unremunerative activity... Perhaps I should make a business of it.
Thanks for the info Carl. The car is still pristine. I bought it after Simon posted the Gumtree ad here on Fchat. It was with a retired guy in Trayning half way to Kalgoorlie. He bought it off Peter a year before his crash. Here is a pic of the A/C vents. I will keep digging on the history. Image Unavailable, Please Login
