If genius is calculated by being able to make the complex,,,,, simple...... what is it when we make the very simple,,,,,, complex??? "unconscious bias"??? $8500 for this?? We must have bigger issues than this to tackle. What next special lights for gays and lesbians?? Does this mean that we get to a point and only men can walk on one side of the street and women on the other. You just can't overcome dumb by the looks of it. I am sure the homeless could do with the 8 K for dinner next week. Is this for real? Female traffic light signals to go up at pedestrian crossing as Committee for Melbourne tackles 'unconscious bias' - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) good lord.
Yet another example of the looney left ****ing everything up for normal people. As one of the comments said, what's wrong with "walk" and "don't walk" like it used to be. Oh, I know, that will discriminate against non-English speaking people. Ok. Why not a red circle and a green circle, like traffic lights? Or, of course, just grow the **** up and leave it like it is.
Yep, amazing. I guess that cost the taxpayers $1m. Obviously nothing important to work on in Melbourne ... fncked city anyway IMO. And for FS that was just a person, not a man. Pete
Melbourne isn't on it's own... Pedestrian lights give green light for change around the world - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
Mind you, we could have the red ones as blokes standing still, and the green ones as a woman walking briskly - that'd be about right
Maybe there's hope for the country - also in the news today, moves to posthumously promote Sir John Monash, who was apparently not fairly treated due to his heritage and religion. His 1914 pic might look a bit familiar to some here...
A great man and a great Australian, who saw through the futility of trench warfare and instigated the infantry tactics that won the next war too.
Good God! Couldn't they just claim the existing trousers wearing icon was a lesbian? I thought us Yanks had an exclusive on all this PC crap. Scratch Oz off my list of places to escape to.
The silhouette of a woman in a dress is a gender stereotype. Not all women should be forced to wear dress by the patriarchal hegemony. I find it offensive and demand that it be changed!
Apparently different crossing signals arnt that new Melbourne female traffic signals: City pushes for more ?equal? lights
More than 10 years ago I was undergoing initial training to become a police officer We were shown a video of an assault then asked to say how we would have described the offender over the radio so everyone would be able to find the guy All of us mentioned the males age, height, clothing etc and mentioned he was dark skinned (black) (because he was) and were all immediately told off, and said skin colour shouldn't be mentioned ..... So we had to just leave the description as "young male" and what he was wearing lol
I think the new image discriminates against transgender and intersex people. They need to insert a long schlong dangling down beneath the dress so those people will also realise it's safe to cross the road and won't be left standing on the pavement confused about what to do.
And anyone you hit, you can just pop in the boot with the rest of them. Image Unavailable, Please Login
