So last week I drove a couple of my bucket lists on a track. Not being familiar with the place, I had the chance to do a few warm up laps in a Maserati Granturismo. That was a good way to get used to the track. I should preface with the fact that I don't have a great deal of track experience, but I like to think I do okay at driving. Next up was a 430 Scud. I've driven a few recent model Ferrari v8's, but this one has eluded me. I was pretty happy to get it somewhere where I could give it a red hot go. To be honest, I was a bit intimidated. I've heard a lot of good things. Inside, there was lots of carbon. From a feel point of view, it was definitely more raw than a standard 430. I loved the engine noise. The throttle response seemed to be sharper, but that may have just been the theatre. 5 laps went by all too quickly. It was all a bit manic, but it was a lot of fun - again - the sound was great, and the car really hung on. Another bucketlist for me is a FEHOS. This was the day - an F12. I really wasn't sure what to expect. I thought the Scud sounded good, but starting this thing up and stamping on the accelerator a few times - I was in heaven. I mentally expected the F12 to feel bigger and heavier, but I was surprised. The wheel felt very similar to the California or the 458, maybe a bit lighter/faster. Getting out and driving was awesome. The ride was great - it felt tight and firm and super useable. The power though - I couldn't get over the power. Put your foot down, and it comes on fast. Coming out of a corner, push the accelerator and any sign of the rear end sliding would be pulled straight into line. Mind you - I had it in sport mode - so the car was probably the better driver on the day. Still - it helped with confidence, each lap was quicker than the last, and when I got out, I had a smile on my face from ear to ear. In fact, each time I think about it, the smile comes back. I would definitely recommend it, and when I get the chance again, I'm going to be straight on it.
Had to head over to Vegas for a conference - so I decided to make the most of it. There's a few companies that run out of the Las Vegas Speedway. These guys had the best selection of cars - so I went with them. Well, I can honestly say that I have to agree now! Especially the F12. What a absolute blast to drive!
I was in Vegas last year and thought about doing one of those days but ran out of time and went and fired machine guns instead
Ha. That was on our list too. But I did the driving and missed the guns instead. There's always next time. Vegas. It's a classic example of American excess. I'm still not sure what to think of the place.
I want too!! Sounds like you had a super time...as u would, well done I had a lot of fun with the S1 California i drove in Italy, need more low down power though Did you get any photos?
I did the same thing just last week except I drove a 488 GTB and a 458 challenge car. Unbelievable experience.
Awesome. I left the challenge so I've got something to move 'up' to next time! I bet it was amazing. Picture of the F12 attached. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for sharing! Looks a meanie, i want a spin, bucket list is to do 300km/h. the dark matt'ish wheels/rims, does not show the anti christ brake dust, remember that when you custom order your next car
Sounds amazing. Last time we were in Vegas we tried this: https://digthisvegas.com/ ... straight off the plane from Australia (the only time that fitted in). Something really different, although probably not as much fun as the Ferrari's! Gary.
LOL the people who use these things daily must think it's hysterical that people pay to play with them. Reckon it'd be great fun though!
