Having purchased property at Mountain Air, I have been looking for other opportunities when I came across this last weekend. I was told that the runway and 29 acres is for sale for 499K. But, there seems to be some question about the runway being part of the deal. There are such bargains out there now, and this is one of the most beautiful areas in the country as far as I am concerned [*** deleted P&R comments ***].

The house is 7100 square feet and came with some land. It sold for 449K from what I have been told but needed to be finished. [*** deleted P&R comments ***].

I look at something like this and would consider relo just because this screams bargain. I own a good sized home in NJ (not this big though), and I could probably sell for twice the amount of this home, take the extra $$ and complete it.

Really nice - I love NC too.

Of course, not in my plans right now, but looks great.

Great looking place! Once you crunch the numbers and see how little the property taxes are out here compared to most places - these beautiful mountains just make good sense!

It'd be great to have an airstrip with your home! (just don't be afraid to use your flaps :))

KaiTac-esqe approach. It looked like he almost touched a wingtip down.

That runway must be a bear to land on. The wind shear through those mountains must be atrocious.

Whatever property tax savings you gained would be quickly eaten up by the increase in your life insurances premiums as soon as your agent saw the techniques required for each landing there at your personal airport. :)
