I just finished my last bass tournament of they year in the FLW Tour series as a Coangler. It was a great rookie year learning a bunch, fishing with legends, and I flew myself and traveling partner to all national events.

Out of 6 tournaments, I flew to all except the one close to home in Texas. I calculated we flew 31.5 hours and driving would have been 111 hours. Also nice that we always flew in day of the pretournament meeting, sleeping in our home bed night before. Although prepared to drive if any nonflying weather, we never had a delay more than hour for weather.

Okeechobee Lake, FL - 980 nm (nonstop there, only fuel stop of year on return headwinds)
Lake Hartwell, SC - 740 nm (nonstop both ways)
Beaver Lake, AR - 260 nm
Pickwick Lake, AL - 490 nm
Kentucky Lake, TN - 480 nm

pic 1 - Flightaware the 980 nm nonstop to southern Florida.

pic 2 - going across stage for daily weigh-in.

pic 3 - ran into founder of Ranger Boats, Forest Wood. we were flying out and he had come in for final awards.

pic 4 - sharing a fishing hole with legend Jimmy Houston.

I'm so jealous of your ability to take these trips in your own plane. Just awesome.
