There was a recently aired program that counted down the 10 most extreme airports, whether due to terrain or weather or poor design. I'm not a pilot, however, I have immense respect for those who are and some of the airports highlighted are really scary. I thought flying into Denver was bad, but some of the airports listed are real hairy. This may be a fairly old program, but if you haven't seen it check it out. The top airport was Hillary-Tenzing in Nepal.

I have no problem with Denver, but Eagle/Vail is one of the ten on the program.

I've only flown into Denver once and the turbulence was impressive, so consider it a novice opinion.

There are, I believe, more extreme strips than Lukla in Nepal with scheduled air service. But Lukla has the most travel by far for the Everest tourists and seems most popular with these listicles.
