I just cant imagine anything better... Filming a Lancaster from a Mosquito, with Spit's and Huc's ....im in love and sign me up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nM2ZQj6YjiA
As of a few years ago, there were two flying Lancasters left, one in each hemisphere. That was according to the PA announcers at the big Reading, PA WW2 Fly-In every D-Day. Quite the video!!
There is two now, the one in England at the BBMF and the other is the Canadian heritage operated one. The Canadian one is currently flying to England to do a summer tour with the BBMF, it will probably be the last time two of these fly together. I can wait for the footage of that.
So, is one of them from NZ? Canada and England are in the same hemisphere. Great video. Look at the lineup at the end... Beech C-45, PBY Catalina, C-47, ME-262...
LOL , as fate would have it I believe that the NZ team that just restored the mosquito is working on bringing another Lanc' to airworthy condition.
Depends on which side of the Greenwich Meridian you are on in England. RAF Lakenheath was in the Eastern Hemisphere. There are Northern and Southern Hemispheres and also Eastern and Western Hemispheres. Depends on which way you want to slice the orange.
wow... that shot from 8:20 on with the B-25 and Lanc is incredible. Quite a bit of wing flex in the Lanc (8:51 & 9:40), even without a full bomb load. The Lanc's hard pull at 11:05 is great. Too bad they didn't film the landing(s). Love that the Mossie has a stick. SUPER video thanks for sharing
Great to see air-to-air footage and in close formation.. thanks! Hats off to all the brave crew who took those machines into battle..
Here's some footage of more modern warplanes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEe3xfWfkG8 watch in 720p, amazing...
Boring compared to the WWII planes. IMO So why do they think it's necessary to add a music track...???
Jets can be fun in there natural environment.... The Mach 1 Loop in wales.... of course when I used to go there as a kid it was Phantoms, Buccaneers and EE Lightning's... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-7zHlOi4T4
This coming Sunday 3 Lanc's will be together..........Just Jane will taxi whilst the other two are flying overhead...... Once in a Lanc time - 3 Lancasters!!! - Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre Just Jane will hopefully fly again soon........
A feature-length video on the same flight - 10 Merlins in formation (and not a Mustang among them!) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceuU1UQuwVU]THE MERLIN FORMATION: 10 Rolls-Royce Merlin Engines - YouTube[/ame]
