It's nice to have an office with a window :)
Cool.. where is that? My first session at the controls of a helicopter last year ended with following the narrow meanderings of a small river.. which was pretty good fun. Are there special rules/clearances needed be below ridge level? or not needed or non-issue? or training area?
It's a training area, not really anything special. You know you are lost/outside the training area if the cows start running when you fly by. All sorts of responses, yesterday we flew right over some hole on a golf course and the plane was banked up 60 degrees so the wingtip was maybe 150' from the ground and there were a couple guys down there on the green just stopped and watching us. One of our routes goes over a lake that's popular with fishermen. There is one guy who must be retired who is out there a lot a waves a big American flag every time we fly by. The biggest complaints are from the chicken farmers, the planes scare the chickens and they die so we try to avoid them.
Yeah... c-130 We fly a lot of strange routes but if you want something that gets you in the basic vicinity I think you will find the SR-229 in the AP1/B is pretty close. The SR-219 is more up in Northern Arkansas but the whole White River area has a 2000 AGL restriction if memory serves.
