In the 1980's, ABC distributed the show via subscription and VHS tape. My Dad was a subscriber. I still have the tapes someplace.

Discovered some episodes are now on YouTube. Early days of the channel Speedvision aired the show as well, when they had aviation content. It was a great show, especially the warbird checkouts with author Jeff Ethel, he sadly died a few years ago in a P38 crash.

    Here is some video's:

There's a nice vid of the (only?) flying Japanese Zero in the index.

I DO remember those shows and it's a shame that they don't run more stuff like that anymore. A couple of years ago I was visiting Lynn Hunts shop in Santa Rosa and saw a pile of wreckage on the floor and it was the P-38 that Ethel died in. It hit heavy hard and flat. Really sad to see because Jeff did a lot of good things. Gary Norton's P-51 was in there also, dismantled at the time. The whole place was full of goodies.

Not knowing the name I looked up his Wiki entry https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeffrey_Ethell and saw mention of WW2 colour photo collection subsequently made available and which I found at WW2Color.com :: Search

Great link. I have a WWII and war against communism buff, that loved the link. He's a WWII, Korean and Vietnam war vet. Spent his entire working life in the military, retired in 1979. 94 now.
