I think the broken crane falling on the airplane probably caused more damage than the "hard landing"! It reminded me of the "drop test" that they do on early models of new carrier-based aircraft.
Don't they do it on 'everything'? Very vague memories tell me 'they' drop a 747, for example, from ~50' (?) If the landing gear survives, it's all good.... But I could very well be imagining that..... Cheers, Ian
was the plane being scrapped... it did not have any engines... it was in an area with telephone poles / off airport
I believe the A321 has 4-wheel gear. The aircraft in the photo doesn't look that long but it's a strange angle - look how narrow the wings look.
