And how do you move it without cutting it into little pieces? I'd say it's smarter to buy a ferriable one, get it to the airport nearest to your final destination, then part it out. It should be cheaper in the end and have a better result. That said, I complement the scrapper for their initiative!

    Regards,

    Art S.

PS. The upper fuselage would make a nice shed/barn.

There's a ton of 747s for sale here in California (Mojave, Victorville) not to mention all the other bone yards in this country. No reason to buy the Virgin one

To be honest, I'm not sure what the spares included but I would doubt that it included engines, after all, they were almost 1 million a piece.

I remember that, brand new, a Boeing 707 was advertised as a $6 million airplane. Of course, that was in 1959.....

The VC-25s, otherwise known as Air Force One and its mate, should be on the block soon, with most mission equipment removed. They are building the 747-8 replacements now. Those VC-25s were the best maintained 747-200s in the world.

Kinda hard to do since she is sitting in Goodyear, AZ other than truck it over to the Gila River and wait for a 100 year flood.

    Curious about reason for retirement.
Seller is "theconcordealliance". Could this be the same dreamers that think they'll be flying Concorde again?
Less any usable spares wouldn't this simply be scrap metal?
