    At this weekend's Coach I Memorial event near Clemson, SC, which attracted 25 Ferraris and 33 other cars, we also were paid a visit by an airplane, the Just SuperSTOL, built in nearby Walhalla (a town we drove through on a caravan to Highlands, NC for dinner).

    The grassy area on the far side of the lake behind the house is estimated to be less than 500 feet long, but it was no problem for the aircraft, and its departure was downright spectacular.

    I went for a few flights in that thing and if I ever build a plane, that is going to be the one. It can climb at a ridiculous angle of attack with those leading edge slats with seamless transition when they come out. It ain't a fast airplane but it sure is slow! Perfect for pea patch flying and back country, short Idaho strips and gravel bars.
