    I took off in a PA-11 in Ellensburg Washington in high steady winds like that once but not a microburst. That thing climbed like an elevator all while in a level attitude. Took forever to get back to Buckley following a PT-22 that just ran off and left me like a dirty shirt…

    That video made me pucker! It could very easily have turned out bad especially for the downwind ones. Whew!

    That's the Air Force Academy Field. When I was Wings of Blue, microburst was one of the few things that would keep us from jumping. Our only fatality for the jump team was a microburst event during landing. Easy to see why.
