Forgive me what probably is a stupid question, but I just can't seen to find a reliable answer. Has the A-10 Warthog been decommissioned? I read it was but then I read they plan to keep them flying for 30 more years? Anyone know for sure?
They are still in service.... I would be surprised if another 30 years was in the cards but it has been given a reprieve from retirement for a while.
Still in service, and landing on Estonian highways. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/checkpoint/wp/2016/06/21/watch-an-a-10-land-on-an-estonian-highway-for-the-first-time-since-1984/
And, apparently, they are street legal in Estonia! Perhaps Uro is getting tired of the Dino? U.S. fighter jets land on highway - CNN Video
The AF never liked the A-10. No A.B. It's the silk scarf syndrome . A need will always exist for the A-10 or similar platform. The F-35 should avoid playing in the mud.
If the Air Force doesnt want them, believe me there are 1000's of Army pilots who would take them in a heartbeat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
