    Rolling at V1, how much power should there be 'in reserve' during a normal TO? I think I've read before, maybe on this forum, that company mandated reduced power TO's are not unusual to reduce engine maintenance. True, or false? Its not as though Shanghai Pudong (PVG) is in a noise sensitive area.

    We usually do do a reduced power T/O but have the numbers for full power if we choose to use it. A big problem in China is they speak Chinese on the radios (controllers and pilots) when they talk to each other so as an English speaking guy we have no SA about what's going on.
