    It looks really good and new.

    Kerry, mine are the same as yours. The photo shows all the parts with the plastic bits removed. I hope later today to use the now famous "Jig" loaned from Iain over here in the UK to join up all the parts again.
    To remove the old plastic parts I just used a paint stripper gun to heat the metal up thus softening the plastic enough for it to be pulled off.
    Joining them up is going to be a different story :)

    Yes it is a shiny zinc, coated with a yellow passivate.
    The old method of coating with cadmium has been banned in the UK for some time now. I guess its the same in the US?

    P thanks for "pointing out" to me what I can see is so obvious when I look at your pix of the plated bits..........

    So now three questions to you or the TR public at large......

    First, HOW do you reinstall the plastic tubes, so that they are again "sealed tight"?

    Second, what is that tubing actually made of?

    Lastly, where might one get some or a non-concours replacement type of tubing or hose? (You know Hacker Me!)

    haha....pix!

    ...or it didn't happen... :D

    Our obtainium friend Verel Boean has a kit with the special installation tool for the fuel lines for a 308. I'm sure a Testarossa kit could easily be made up.

    The Cohline catalog page (that I received for Global Metrics) describes the Type 3011 tubing family as:

    POLYAMIDE TUBE
    PA 12 HIPHL-sw according to DIN 73378 and DIN 74324
    soft, heat aging [sic] and light stabilized, black

    For the size you show (3011..3106), it shows:

    ID = 3.15 +/- 0.3 mm
    OD = 6.00 +/- 0.15 mm
    wall thickness = 1.40 mm
    working pressure = 42 bar
    minimum bend radius = 35 mm

    Doesn't seem to match the "6X1.1275" shown on your actual part (which I believe is OD X wall thickness), but I'm just reporting what's printed on the catalog page. I bought some 3011..0305 for a different project which is:

    ID = 3.00 +/- 0.3 mm
    OD = 5.00 +/- 0.15 mm
    wall thickness = 1.00 mm
    working pressure = 33 bar
    minimum bend radius = 25 mm

    and that was marked "5X1".

    Global Metrics, Belmont, CA 650-592-2722 ask for Lori (she's not a technical whiz on the subject, but she can contact Cohline and maybe get an answer about the different/special 6mm tubing size that you seem to have -- and she's very nice and competent to deal with)

    Their email is:

    [email protected]

    (and I didn't mis-type -- two "s" in the address)

    The tricky part is, if you order some special fittings (or special tubing), they only come by ship once a month (and if your timing just misses, it can mean a two month wait), but, if you just want some standard size tubing, I believe that they try to stock that.

    I found a nice link to the Cohline catalogue pages for reference:
    http://www.newcoproducts.com/cohline/

    The tubing type 3011p is described on page 41.
    Also, one can find all kinds of fittings and jigs for fuel and hydraulic lines in this catalogue and purchase from Newco Products (I have no affilitation with this company).
