None of them ever had 1000hp ;)

Sure, Lotec bought engine conversion, body and interior parts from Koenig but totally made it wrong whilst failing to give a perfectly balanced re-design their own "style".

The Koenig Competition Evolution presented revolutionary design aspects which Ferrari later showed on the F40.

Unfortunately, all Koenig Competition Evolution had left Germany...most of them are in Japan and get maintained by Nakamura Engineering.

My dream car is the F40 - but if a Koenig would be for sale...tempting, tempting... :D

Yes it did 1000 hp in the evolution version, while it had 710 hp in the original version. The was also an 800 hp version, the "competition", that had the f40 rear spoiler but the regular TR fog lights.

Here is the original version, with a nicer rear spoiler, and the competition.

I was a big fan when I was little, and visited their booth countless times at the Geneva auto show. The Koenig version is what made me discover the TR when I was 11! I wonder how reliable these cars are with these giant turbos.

By the way, it's the first time I see an evolution with round F40 rear lights! (I don't like it).
It's weird to see the most imitated car of all time, imitating another car!

Never ever on the dyno - that´s the main point.

One German owner dyno´d his Competition Evolution...the result was less than 800 hp...Koenig was always great in marketing ;)

Here´s another stupid conversion...F 512 M back lights, standard suspension, insanely ugly exhaust...BUT the base is fantastic and worth to save this iconic piece ->

There are two ways...1st OEM suspension and 2nd Koenig coilovers but adjusted to maximum height...

This car is located around 30 minutes away from my house - i should give it an inspection ;)

What a freaking dream...just a little work on it and you´ll have an excellent Koenig Competition Evolution *dream*

That "EVOLUTION" powerplant was developed by LOTEC for Koenig, electronic system made by LENZ. The engine was claimed to deliver 780 PS with 0,85 bar of boost.

The system achieved 1000 PS with 1,4 bar only on dyno. Years later just few 1000PS engines were developed for road use.

"Competition" was fitted with the older turbocharged/supercharged system (smaller turbos), it delivered close to 800 PS with 1 bar of boost.

"Testarossa Turbo", delivered 710 PS with just the turbo system setted at 0,8 bar of boost.

I hope next year my competition will be fnished,or ready to go on the road again. with the trijekt motormanagment I hope that the engine will have those 1000 hp at 1,4 bar. but it will take a long time until all is adjusted before going on the dyno

the problem is to find a dyno here in my area that is able to meassure such power :(

Very interesting to know the exactly figure, I had always supposed that. This is because I have some magazines road tests that I retrieved on ebay. AutoCapital published data for Turbo 710 hp, Autoworks published data for the Competition Evolution. Numbers were very close.

Oh yes. Please keep us informed.

you are pretty invited to visit me. with easy jet from Uk to basel/switzerland is fast and cheap. and I´m only about 10 km away from the airport. but if I would let you drive??? :) if you have a good insurance :D

until now the fastest I have gone has been about 352km/h, then the rpm limiter was working. as I mentioned already in an other thread I would like to go in nardo or in papenburg more than 400 km/h - and then I will sell it, otherwise this car would be my dead
