    I'm starting to hear what sounds like a chirping sound when I release the clutch. Anyone who hears it thinks I'm lighting up the tires which I'm obviously not. Doesn't happen all the time but I can almost predict when it will occur. Dealership said the clutch was good and I think so too since it holds pretty well without any signs of slippage. I'm thinking it's just me hesitating to fully release allowing it ride just before full engagement.
    Is this normal? Am I just a shi#y driver?

    If you are a sh$ty driver, then I'm one too. Same thing on mine, but only if I let the clutch slip a little more than usual, and I "know" when it's going to do it. I've seen video of TRs on YouTube doing the same sound. I'm also curious to know why since my clutch is also good according to Ferrari.

    After doing a bit of research, I think the possible causes of the noise just before full clutch engagement could be one of two things;

    -Clutch plate torsion spring vibration (harmless but I'm no expert).
    -Worn syncros (unlikely).

    I say the worn syncros are unlikely because you would probably hear that same noise all the time and definitely see slippage especially on high gears. I highly doubt I have worn ALL syncros out since I occasionally get the noise on all gears including reverse where there is no syncro.

    This is just my guess and the result of a few hours of YT vids.

    could be

    could not be

    wrong: the reverse also has syncro

    the noise could be also from the drive plate. inside this drive plate covering there is some metal, this sometimes makes such noises when releasing the clutch. nothing serious.

    is this noise also when you start to push the clutch pedal or only when you release it?
    you may try to release the clutch faster to see if the noise will be gone
    what is when you have the gearbox in neutral and then push and release the clutch?

    As a 10 year owner of a Testarossa with the same clutch I have noticed the same sound too. The solution for me has been to release the clutch slowly at first and once it starts to grab I quickly release it the rest of the way. It only chirps when I do the slow release. The previous owner taught me to throttle up at the same time that I release the clutch (not before).

    Really? Is this typical of Ferraris?

    Only on release

    This is why I say it is predictable. It only occurs when I hesitate (slow release). No sound in neutral or when I dump it.

    Is the noise coming from the tires chirping or inside the gear box?

    Right on. I was fortunate enough to get a driving lesson from a Ferrari expert. He told me the same thing. My main take away was;
    -Alway blip the throttle during gear changes
    -Never force a gear in (use thumb or finger pressure only)
    -Never gear up below 2000 RPM
    -Keep it in neutral when coming to a stop
    -Keep it in neutral at a stop rather than using the clutch
    -Don't allow the wheels to drive the engine

    and most importantly, brakes are cheaper than clutches and gears so use them

    Mind didn't do it until I replaced the clutch several years ago. The clutch worked flawlessly but if I slipped it just a little it would "chirp"

    I asked around and was told it was normal. Considering how many others have the same condition, I'd say it is inherent of a dual disc clutch.

    I don't know if I got better at driving it but the sound went away with time.

    I found that driving it like a diesel was the best method. Stay off the throttle until you've almost completely released the clutch - then nail it! You're not going to light the tires up but you'll save your clutch, differential, etc. etc.

    That's how I do it too. I rarely get the chirp sound now.

    Opening up the clutch for inspection is not a very difficult job on our flat-twelves ...

    Could also be the clutch thrust beraring (dry) imo ...
