It's almost that time again and I'm ready to fire her up. Here's the background: Last oil change was back in June during the Engine Out Service. Car has ran about 300 miles since. All fluids were checked or replaced. Car has been in a bubble all winter with a battery tender, full tank of gas and fuel stabilizer. Is it safe to just start her up or should I change the oil first?
Check level and fire her up.. Take her out and enjoy.. DOnt take her to McDonalds for lunch.. She wants dinner in a nice place.. Remember.. you havent called her in many months... R
That's freaky. How the **** do you know where I am? I just took the Merc out of hibernation and this is the first place I take her. Image Unavailable, Please Login
No clue. I was looking for it this morning. I'm gonna guess he was not subscribed and trying to sell on the forum. He had a total of 5 posts and a halfass profile set up. Wtf. Trying to sell something close to 100k you would think maybe to get it right. I mean. Don't you know someone that speaks and writes English. I know sometimes people don't want to bother others but this would one of those times to actually bother somebody. Not knocking the fact of poor English totally but come on. Sometimes I feel we are being used. It's not right. Introduce yourself. Subscribe. Talk about the car in a manner that people could actually understand. Holy sh*t we see it all. Far as I am concerned he deserved a little lashing. R
Should be just fine, just let her warm up first. Next winter start it up once a month until the fans kick in rather than let her sit all winter.
Mr. Chairman, I think it will be a good idea for you to text message your supporting team when you are get ready to lean on someone... too bad I missed it... Does Fchat have post alert??? something that can ping our IPhone on new post. This is a must...
if you have tapatalk on your phone you can set it up with alerts. That's what I do on my android tablet and phone.
Thanks Joe, I will look into this. It will be worth it to follow Mr. Chairman's posts, they are therapeutic for me... LMAO... Now, I have to look into this.
Seriously had tears running down my face! Robbie's reply was simply a 100%-spot-on impersonation. Honestly I did not even read it as a lashing; if like the initial poster I had typed something that disjointed, I would've expected something similar. It was a riot! CheerZ Vincent
Lol. Pretty funny. I wish I still had it. It's even out of my profile history. You missed a good one Haig. I gotta tell ya. This forum is really fun. Actually having my friends here on this forum is fun. R
Finally started her up today. As suggested, I checked the oil and fluid levels. Oil looks good BUT below the MIN line. Is this normal for sitting around for 5 months? After running for 15 minutes, I checked the oil level again and it looked like where it should be. The oil pressure was OK too. Here's the problem. Looks like this harsh winter took a toll on my fuel pump seals. Leaking like crazy. Pic. below shows leak from under the cover plate about the center, at least that's what I think it is. Any suggestions? The front of the car is on the right Image Unavailable, Please Login
leaking when running or when the engine stopped? I think only when running: so the fuel hose from one of the pumps to the fuelfilter is leaking. no big deal to change. but then just change both sides. before you remove the hoses take the aluminum sheet away and have a look where it is leaking exactly.
I think it's leaking all the time but mostly when running. I lost a lot of fuel over the hibernation period.
