Mel – I have a chip tuning on my 512 TR. Together with the ECU’s there were new exhausts, new rims, new interior and even a new engine. They even changed the color from rosso corsa to nero and now I have 515 HP and the car looks like this…

No, no. I still have my 512TR as an addition to my 575M. How could I sell my 512TR!

I am still happy with the TR and will drive home soon from Munich to Switzerland on the German autobahn (I did 240 kph when we went here, but there was too much traffic to go any faster).

O.K. I am glad you have her still !!

I did 310 on the GPS twice in Germany on Autobahns, Sunday mornings with no traffic, shifted from 4th to fifth gear at 255 km/hrs ...

And have a Phone with GPS and a special programm to get the picture as proof ... (found only one pic of 285 ...)

So ... she can do it for you ... maybe once ... ...

Wow, 310 kph!

It had too much traffic this afternoon and in the second half the road was wet. So I could not go faster than 200 kph. Plus the 512 TR did not feel so stable as my 575M.

255 (actually 250) is the same speed where you have to go into 6th gear in my 575M and where the German cars like BWM, Mercedes and Audi hit their speed limiter . Good to know you have one gear left when the others run into their limiter

Markus

PS: Sorry to hitchhike your thread. Can't help regarding the ECU tuning.

I wrote the seller and inquired same, got a very nice response -

"The chips are part # 490 from Total Performance Software Inc in Florida phone #352 473-0105 and are worth 24+ hp, but the best thing is the additional low end driving torque! "

He also mentioned the last belt service was done in 2003.

Can the modification be reversed?

From what I can tell, the aftermarket chips can be removed. However, where did they go to begin with? When you remove them, what do you need to replace them with to return the car to stock?

Just curious...

Its ugly...what did they do to the body?

Did they turn the seats around so the engine is now facing forwards?

It may drive ok, but its just so backwards and wrong. Looks like a Corvette. I would take it back to the shop and demand a refund plus damages.

Thanks for the clarification regarding the seats facing into the wrong direction. I already was wondering why the car goes up to 325kph backwards but only to about 60 kph in forward direction

Just brought the car back to the shop and now all is OK again…

Markus

PS: You can see that this is a real conversion since the number plate is the same…

Hello, I am new here and apologize for bumping an old thread.

I'm interested in reaching Total Performance Software, but the phone numbers I've found so far have been inactive. Would anyone happen to have current contact info for this company in FL, if they are still around?

Thank you!!
