According to the ad the car had been in an accident: "This particular example was in a rear end collision in '96 and salvaged." Markus
It was also originally black, and the engine has been replaced? Still 95k? Seems high to me. Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
This is why I posted ...Diminished Value... Laymans definition is: something happened that diminished the value...never to be recouped again..
Come on guys ... We see rediculous adds of sold cars in USA for K$200 and more ... there ar NOT so many as you may think ... I am sure about that ... Now we see a nice car and "the price is too high".... Show me one F that really has been in NO accident ... or respray ... Although I do NOT like 512M's at all think this is a very good offer imo. You should all be very happy with a car like this; specially the low miles. Or ........ ?
I have a pic somewhere, I'll try and find it. The car was unrecognizable from the rear. With the current spike in M prices that car is still a bit high, maybe should be in the $60's but then again where can you get an M that was factory repaired for less than 100k regardless of its history. Think about it, how many Lusso's SWB's LM's GTO's etc have been wrecked and rebuilt and still command top dollar. Wade
it says: The work was done by Maranello Services in Bozollo, Italy. (receipts on file). so nothing factory like. also I don´t know bozollo, only bolzano but that has not to say that the work has been not right done ! ! !
It only was sent to Italy to be repaired because of the cost. It isn't for sale for 95G's because it is such a great car. It would be great to see the pictures if they can be found.
I called on this car. I am waiting for copies of the receipt for work done. I may pick this one up if it all checks out. B*tch part duaw. I want a tr in my life again. Lol. R
Finally found the before shot! Those guys in maranello are good! This shot is after they welded the new sub frame on.. because of damage the timing belts were changed while the engine was still in. No need to remove!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Post # 43 http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/boxers-tr-m/447141-how-much-%24%24%24-m-2.html seems like this car might be a good deal...60% off market value http://www.f512m-usa.net/car67.html
In another 20 years or so the "salvage" will not matter as Wade points out. It is one of 75 built for the US market. Very limited pool to choose from if you want one. Like many, I am not a fan of the M but for some reason this color makes it work for me. Would still likely change to 512TR wheels or something similar... Go for it Robbie!
I agree ---- NO TR --- not even a Ferrari. The engine ( whatever it may be ) appears to be sitting transverse in the frame, and the rear brakes are drums ! The doors do not look correct either. Even the driver's seat headrest is wrong. My guess is that is some sort of conversion / replica POS in-process ( possibly starting with a Fiero chassis ? ). The only thing "Ferrari" about that thing is the center cap on the RR wheel......and, I don't even think the wheel itself is actually a Ferrari ( certainly NOT a TR ) wheel.
