It is great to see the renewed attention the TR is receiving in the media recently, although the ubiquitous cocaine references are getting a bit old.

 

Dual flying mirrors, I didn't know this existed. Thanks for the article.

It was actually a pretty good article. My favorite line while talking about the Daytona engine:

It's the sound of an ape screwing an angel, and at high revs, it almost sounds consensual.



Todd - some have added a second high mirror but reports are that they are useless from the driver side due to the A pillar. Could give the passenger a nice view...

 

Hey, that's the main reason I wanted a TR and the Bren Ten 10mm pistol. I couldn't talk myself into purchasing a pair of wicker shoes, though I might have to bust out the Miami Vice CD Library and force it on my wife. Who knows, she may like it.

 

Yes! I was just about to type the same thing - how many cocaine references are in that article!?!? Seems like 1 reference every 2 sentences!

 

This article was about cars in Miami Vice, which was about cocaine.

 

Other recent TR articles, which had nothing to do with Miami Vice, also felt the need to throw in a coke reference or two. This is what I(as well as Joe, I believe)was referring to...

 

i like it that they wrote about the cars, and that they are getting more pr time.

but the article was poor imo. the drug premise got stale after the 14th reference. too bad. they could have made more out of talking about the cars.

 

Yeah I remember just a couple of months ago, I think it was in Car and Driver, when they compared the TR to the new Vette, something about how the glove box mirror was so big because... Cocaine. That was just the one reference in that article, thankfully.

 

The TR and yellow Daytona are cars from The swap shop in Fort Lauderdale which happens to also have one of the two white Testarossa's from the show. I wonder why they didn't use that one for the magazine??? Either way it's a great story and the TR is getting the respect it deserves.

 

What year is the black double flying mirror TR? And is it owned by the swap shop guy? He needs to remove the passenger mirror so it is a proper MonoSpeccio.

The article was pretty complimentary of the TR.

Just bought the magazine, specifically for the Testarossa article. The older I get and the more sports cars (and cars in general) that I drive, the more I realize the author is correct: The Testarossa is a good car by any standard, not just compared to its era. Glad that others have realized it, too, recently.

Oh, and I thought the article was dope (sorry!).

After reading that article I decided to acquire a TR and looked for a project car. I ended up with TWO!!!!

Congrats! I've seen that silver and red one at AIG for at least a year. Glad to see it found a new home.

 

Oh here is the Grigio/red one! Fantastic color combo.
