Seems like the musical chairs is on...cars are changing hands again.. I always thought of myself as a Boxer guy...I love the BBi beyond.. Even when I had the 2 testarossa'a, I preferred the Boxer... After this weekend I am officially a 512 TR guy.. OMG! Everything the testarossa should be is in the 512TR , They got it that right.. I am lucky enough to have found a good one. 1992 Red/Black just turned 5000 miles, absolutley Platinum level condition.. Paint is absolutley beyond anything I have experienced, spent the weekend with the 2 finest grades of Griots polish and rubbed out entire car by hand.. Lots of red on microfibre cloths means one thing... Stunning finish awaits put about 100 miles on it this weekend alone..the driveability far exceeds the previous versions.. Heres pics from delivery... We all know how it feels when the car carrier pulls up and the doors swing open and your eyes just open wide in amazement... More pics to come... Congrats Michael, you will love the 512TR. (Do the front low beams need work ? Easy job ... ) Remember to put a 3-M film over them, if they crack, they can not be bought anymore ...(it's all in a thread of mine somewhere) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, they have evolutionary Fog coating.. Must remove and bathe.. any tips for removal?? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very easy .... unscrew the grille (4 screws) and find the two screws in the side of each beam ... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice, Saw something about that in owners manual, wasnt sure.. Thank You! Easy! what did you clean it with ...amonia?
nice looking car. can you give us a market update and let us know a ballpark price where the car traded at? I hope you keep this one for a while...she looks glorious! pcb
Any windowcleaner will do ... very carefully with a pencil and a small piece of cloth .... Before installing, use a lamp to check your work !
I paid High , for the low Mileage and totally unmolested originality.. Yes higher than I sold the Black car for earlier this year.. Probably the most paid for a 512TR yet... But...Todays High is tomorrows good price and next years bargain.. I dont have to tell you how few and far between a car like this is.. actually I can tell you, it is very close to the price that I bet Mr. Chairman I would have sold the black 87 TR 7 months ago.. If I would have kept that car, certainly I would have got that price now. I hope to show this car in the Ferrari club of America Garden State fall festival in September. I also love the tr...amazing what a few small changes can do to the appearance. clearly the power is also a nice step forward. if you detail this car and show it as you have in the past...she will be a well pedigreed tr. congrats.
Being so keen on 1st gen Tr's , the first thing I noticed when I opened the hood is that the entire engine appears to have dropped an inch or so... The steering has a much lighter feel to it. The suspension is much more compliant, really sport prepared. Clutch pedal pressure is twice as difficult to manage.. The mark of a fast car is that when accelerating it moves faster than the sound you are listening to. Meaning the gears feel taller but the power does not effect any lower end pull. its a long haul highway car , all the way. Nice, Just plain Cadillac nice.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
WOW, the car looks excellent...Congrats!!! Your detailing skills are almost as good as your photography skills. HAHA Don't let the freshly polished car sit too long before applying wax as oxidation begins to form on the paint very quickly.
Between your pictures and Mr. Chairman's write up, it will not be long that I return to owning a TR again. This one is beautiful but that is what we all said about the other two. Congrats brother...
Thanks, Familiar , meaning the backdrops in the pictures..Yeah I have a few spots that always work for me, Most are in my Driveway but there are many great spots out at the southern tip of Long Island. Montauk point is in the near future! Heres another shot by the Beach. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Car looks good and congrats.. Check the right side door. Its looks like its riding a bit high.. The strakes dont line up from the quarter strakes.. Bottome of the door looks elevated.. Could be just an alignment issue but it also looks like someone put some pressure on the strakes themselves.. they look like they have a slight sag to them.. Clean up in inner wheelhouse edge on right quarter panel as well. Looks like some wax or build up of some sort unless its shadows from camera.. R
