The actual market show a upswing in prices but some cars are still cheap to buy. And please don't start a debate about how a cheap car will cost a lot of money at the end we've all heard that before. I just want to point out that there is a cheap TR on EBay with a buy it now of $40,000 Ferrari Testarossa Coupe 2 Door | eBay
BIN is gone. But, I'm the current high bidder at $9K woo-hoo! Looks like it might be a decent driver. Bring a cassette
I remember this one. It was in California if I remember well and had aftermarket wheels. It should show up in a VIN search.
The ad reads: "HAS A CLICKING NOISE WHEN YOU MAKE A HARD RIGHT TURN. THE WHEEL BEARING IS SOLID & TIGHT. THE NOISE IS COMING FROM THE AXLE JOINT." As part of a blind bid - better price in these noises as a diff failure. Rgds, Vincenzo PS: That car has had a lot of paint work done.
I spoke only yesterday with someone on the hunt for an '86 single mirror TR To the OP, yes the economy trending stronger has helped the TR market quite a bit, IMO...and we have plenty of oil! Not everyone will end up in a Tesla......
I think so too mel so one more as you always tell: the question is not if it will break, only when it will break
For my actual DD I wouldn't mind a full electric car. But I'll always own a combustion sport car for my pleasure.
You realize if this car sells in the 30k range in 24 months time there will be 50 I should have threads
I had to check if it was the same car in Florida from the "Original Miami Vice TR found!!!!" thread. Its not. The engine bay looks immaculate.....I wonder when the last time a belt service was done. I also noticed last night that there was only one TR on Ebay. But today the same 35,000 miles+ cars popped up again. Had me worried for a minute. The 88.5 -1991 TR's are getting more and more scarce.
It won't matter ... In the description it's making a clicking noise when making a turn....the tranny needs to come out with the engine and look at the diff as well.
I think this is from where HE bought it: Stellar Autoplex - 1986 Ferrari Testarossa Rare Flying Mirror 2 Owner Low Miles Fresh Ferrari Service - Chandler, Arizona Looks like he put 6000 miles on it since he bought it (on that ad the miles are listed as 38k)
and wait a minute... The autocheck says 2 calculated owners, but teh description on the Stellar Automotive page says THEY purchased it from the second owner. So, including them, plus this dude selling it = 4 owners... 2 additional owners in 18 months... something doesn't sound right...
This is defenitely a car for the guy who tinker his toys himself with enough knowledge and skills to do all the work it need. Paying labour for all this car MAY need will cost way too much I think.
Yea, that is part of the description he put in the eBay ad-LOL!!! Same car. No belt service, just inspection. He must have painted the skirts/spoiler.
Stellar really know how to take pictures to make a car look good. From those pictures it look like a very presentable car for the price. The part behind the grill really need to be blacked out.
