    Guys,

Thinking about the 512TR or Motoworx 18's wheels for a Testarossa. My question revolves around the 18" tire size (no pun intended). If you compare a stock 16" Testarossa tire to stock size 512TR 18, the overall diameter is quite smaller.

    Testarossa rear: 255/60-16 .... 28.0" OD
    512TR rear: 295/35-18 .... 26.1" OD

To offset this difference, does a stock 512 sit lower to compensate for the smaller tire OD? Otherwise the gap between the tire and sheet metal wheel opening would be huge.
Anyone out there that fitted 18's on a Testarossa?

See the Motoworx's 18 below, me think it looks fantastic and tasteful without being blingy, ghetto, or losing the original character of the Design.

Stock testarossa rear tires are 255/50-16 (not 255/60-16) - redo your calculation (all is OK ;)).

Motoworx all the way. Keep the stock look in modern size.

512, those motoworx wheels look off to me, can't quite put my finger on why.

    Two design things IMO:

    1. increasing the length of the spokes decreases the "triangular" shape of each spoke (so the center section starts to look more like a wooden wagon wheel than the stock 5-pointed star), and

    2. the visual unbalance between the rather thin tire section and more massive center section is increased (note on a 512TR wheel they "lightened/thinned' the whole center structure to give it a more uniform overall look).

Still, the Motoworx are not terrible IMO, I'd give them a "B+", and not penalize a TR's value for having them ;), but the 512TR wheels will always have a greater intrinsic value (because they are an accepted upgrade for a TR and correct for a 512TR too; whereas, it would be a little odd to put the Motoworx on a 512TR -- and, IIRC, you'd have to plan ahead and get the Motoworx with increased offsets and use spacers on a TR to have them also fit a 512TR without spacers someday).

JMO, but I include a photo of a stock TR as "visual" evidence for the two points above:

I think it's the much larger gap between where the spokes end and the bead section of the wheel begins on the Motorworx wheel that's throwing me off. It's a thin band on the stock wheels but look to be 2-3x wider on the motorworx wheels along with a thinner bead area.

I looked at these through carobou
    Nice
If you own a trx wheel , its your only option.

    That pic
    Is a right hand drive
So he put an american flying mirror on left side
    Must be incredibly functional
    Just not aesthetically

Not that I know of but I just got a quote from them in South Africa. Email Theo De Groot, [email protected]. They can do spline or 5 lug design and a choice of offset.

Still debating these or 512 wheel.

I have never seen a single lug 512 wheel?
    A boxer wheel?
    Or a 512tr wheel?
Or an original testarossa 16 inch

What I meant was I am still debating between the Motoworx 18's or the Factory 512TR 18's.

You mean you would convert your hubs from single lug to 5 bolt?
I wish i could convert from 5 bolt to single lug on my 512 TR.
    In 18inch of course

No, my car is 5 bolt ... The only Motoworx image I could find was for the single (although they will make them either way)
