The King of supercars of the 1990's has awoke Long Live The King! 1992 Ferrari 512 TR | London 2014 | RM AUCTIONS US $ 232,000.00 Hold on to your old timing belts, they will be collector items soon!
Well that does it, I am calling my insurance agent. Makes sense that the TR is becoming recognised a bit, and obviously has a lot more room to grow! Sooo glad I got mine when I did. If any of you dreamers have the means I would say now is clearly the time to get your dream car purchased before they are herded into collections and never driven without a camera present.
I would bet that the generations that long for a collector 80s and 90s era car would not give a crap about Elvis.
The dollar to pound variable is huge. What is that....$175,000ish USD? I wonder why our TR's are not being loaded into containers and shipped over to Europe more often?
Makes me wish I could still play the trumpet. Long live the king, long live Enzo and his dismissal of practicality when developing and designing these cars. All the whining that went on in the late nineties about the TR's overbearing personality have finally been surrendered to the history books. The present day now embraces the car as being what it is, and what it was intended to be. An uncompromising and radical machine that along with the Countach, Defined the meaning of supercar!!!!!
I agree with everything said about the TR but, let's not forget the Miura. The TR and the Countach certainly were in a league of their own when it comes to the "outrageous" beast era, but the Miura might be the original supercar. I know this can be a slippery slope....Miura, GT40, Bora, Vector, Boxer or anything else that looks like a door stop wedge.
ALL THINGS CONSIDERED..... This sale only represents a minor tug on the steering wheel... This is not the stock market where values can skyrocket overnight.. It is a beginning though and with any luck , this trend should continue. Just a reality check.. One chain dont make no prison One punch dont make no fight. I rarely respond to unsubscribed users But i'll make an exception. [ame]http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-QWL-FwX4t4[/ame]
Also, if you are looking for the main culprit in the meteoric rise of the Countach, I have four words for you. Wolf of Wall Street. It's like gone and sixty seconds with the gt500 all over again. True story
Wow, how pompous of you...HAHAHA If an unsubscribed user offered to buy your car, would you refuse to sell it to them???
This is getting interesting.. Table for 2 please.. so far I'm just in the mood for apps.. but I may stay for dinner.. Anyone know what the specials are? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkXEGsFIKOk[/ame] Just to set the mood.. R
Been a member for years, let my subscription lapse to get out of PR and the doom and gloom of the biz section, simply to depressing. Not critiquing, however I notice you buy a TR talk up the model like crazy - as if it was a cherished possession ....... Then BAMB ....... its for sale for WAY over MKT. You wrote like you found your long last love in the 512TR, then I was looking at Hemmings and I saw it was for sale. I found / find that strange. I had a 94 512 TR for about a year, great car - one that I really miss.
