With a heavy heart, I've sold the testarossa to buy a 1992 Diablo. I know I'll be back, but with Countach prices gone crazy, it was now or never to step into a 12 cylinder Lambo. I'm excited, but it feels like a small piece of me just died. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very cool!! Enjoy it. I love the diablo. Such a raw car. On the highway it will make the TR seem foolish. It's quite the car. Good job I say!!
You sold a MonoSpecchio! How could you!!! Just kidding...I love the early, pure Diablos. And in black they are menacing!
Congrats dave! Beautiful and I am sure a very different experience. Just put a bit of finance on the diablo and you can get a nice testarossa straight away and have both!
Wow. That is sexy. SilverGTS....can you compare the diablo and the 512tr? Curious since both finally had the electronic ignition and injection. I drove an alpine addition years ago, but it was back to back with a CIS Tr.
Congrats for your new purchase. Enjoy the Diablo. That's a great hyway car. Need an aftermarket exhaust!! Your car is gorgeous in black.
Well done ; that is one of the most desirable Diablos I've ever seen! Soooo sexy. I, for one, fully understand your swap. The only thing that might make you regret the Testa is if the Diablo proves too hard to use - hope it doesn't drive you crazy! ;-)
I'd be grateful if you return on this thread every once in a while to post your ongoing Diablo impressions. We don't only love flat 12's!
+1 I was on the way of buying one Before my 512 TR,but that car was not in the right condition and because of my size...Small sportseats and big ass.Not good. Congrats....Looks really nice!
Holy cow......there has been a little bump in Diablos. Last year you could grab a decent 6.0 for $150k.
You got it, let me know next time you're up this way and vice versa. I got to check out your batcave!
I also own both. Both wonderful cars but so very different. The testarossa now feels like a honda in front of the diablo. Spacious and comfortable with power so linear it feels like you are taking off in a commercial airplane. In front of diablo just feels like a daily driver- no drama. The car shrinks around you and feels like much smaller car. So you're not afraid to maneuver in a tight space. Also visibility is really excellent all around. Tough for a mid engine car. Also had Norwood install a motec fuel injection system and car is more close to the feel of a 512tr. The diablo on the other hand is like a jet plane. You give it gas and you're literally nailed to your seat. Very uncivilized and raw. Also since you seat so far forward the car doesn't wrap itself around you like the testarossa. I will never try to squeeze into a tight space with this car. You are always conscious of the wide rear mainly because rear visibility is nil. Nothing there. A mail slot window that allows you only to see what is directly behind you. Mirrors also only show the scoops and curves of the rear. To pass you have to speed up a bit and look behind you to see if you're clear to turn into that lane. Granted it's just a little push on the gas and you're hitting triple digit speeds. I love both cars. And wouldn't give up either. So similar in design on paper so different in reality. But for me the diablo edges the tr in looks. There is no bad angle on this car. Everything fits and looks perfect. Where as the tr looking straight from the back leaves a little bit to be desired. From me anyway Image Unavailable, Please Login
