The car was a right off as you can see and was sold by the insurance company for $9100. I could of bought the car back but i just didnt want the memories.
I thank god again that i didn't have a passenger or that he didn't hit me on the drivers side im sure it would of ended up much different. My head did smash out the drivers side rear window.I was o/k and only got some glass in my eyes. The strange thing is that the very last picture i took of the car was in a church parking lot, notice the big cross in the first photo...which i have in all my cars and wear at all the times.I owned the car for 5yrs it came up from the states , the car only had 17000 miles when i bought it. at the end it had 96000 miles ran great and still looked like new.P/s the differential did go on me at 84k.The good part is that i sure got to drive the car alot.It allways started and never let me down other than the diff. For the record it was a 1985 vin # ZFFSA17AOF0057075.
Sorry to hear of your incident...I hope it bothers you less each year ahead. Unfortunately the worst demonstration of how well built and solid the TR is. Have you replaced the car with another Michael?
OMG!! Glad to know you came out ok of such an event! How many cars can you get? Many How many lives? Just one...
Two reasons why I sold my TR: 1. Killing back pain 2. Memories of my accident She will be missed. Sorry to see this but glad you are ok.
Very painful to look at those pictures, and Russo Red with Black interior is may favorite color combination. So glad that you were not seriously injured. The typical IQ of today's drivers is not that much more than an acorn. Distracted drivers are even more dangerous than drunk ones. Sometimes i wish i could have the unique auto jacks that Speed Racer had in his Mach 5, which allowed his car to "jump" short distances in an emergency.
+1 ! Hopefully the car got scraped correctly and not on the road somewhere else. Glad you are here with is today tr512 - hopefully, physically you don't have any issues. Cars are replaceable ....and easily !
Yes i did replace it with a beautiful 99 355f1 spider red on tan.It has fabspeed headers tubi high flow cats and muffler.I've been told by many people its the best sounding car that they have every heard.I will post a video one day.I will buy a TR again one day great cars.
Wow! Just as well the doors and roof are steel - worth a bit of a weight penalty. Obviously they`re devoid of much in the way of safety devices - but at least the car itself held up well and protected you. Not having ABS or traction control doesn`t bother me but the lack of any airbags does make you think - despite preferring a steering wheel without an airbag from a driving point of view ofc. On the other hand I think the way current cars are marketed gives people a false sense of security that their cars are almost indestructable - and drive accordingly. Unfortunately driving is a dangerous neccessity but there`s so many other dangers in everyday life you wouldn`t do anything if you thought about it too much! Hope you have as many enjoyable miles in your current / next one - but with a different ending! Dom.
Very similar hit like the one in December that happened to me in my brand new 991TTS. Car was totaled, I walked away with only airbag rashes all over.
It is a beautiful car. I'm glad you have more good memories than bad and I'm very happy that you came out of it relatively unscathed. I'm not sure if my 360 would fare as well. I've always felt relatively safer in the TR, even though it lacks airbags. The opposite is probably true though.
