Currently, Norwood is out of stock of their carbon fiber TR engine covers and has no current plans to make more, unless there's a demand for them. According to James at Norwood, they make 20 covers at a time and they will make more, if there's a demand for them. Beside myself, is anyone interested in getting one?

In the meantime I'm still looking for a good used one.

    Thanks

    Eric

If memory serves, they were $2,200 or $2,700.

I would like one but dont like the carbon look. So I have always thought about buying a used white chicklet and laying in some glass.

Yikes, that's about $1700 to $2200 more than I was willing to pay. :)

I am interested. It is on my project list of things to do.... can you confirm the price and are these guys the only ones that make them?

It seems a bit steep for what you get... but I sure do like the look....

IM me if there is enough interest at this time.

Before they took their ad down (a couple weeks ago) and and now they currently building their new website (Norwood Italia), they were listed for $1800.

I have a black 91 TR, with black Carbon Fiber Tillet B5 seats. I think the Carbon Fiber engine cover is ideal for my TR.

If anyone is interested, let me know, so I can tell Norwood.

    Thanks
    Eric

So, I was going to put a post up just like this, because I called James about two weeks ago asking the same thing, and I got the same response. The website previously said $1800, and I didn't ask him about prices when I called. He told me the same thing, that they make them in batches of 20, and that they would need at least 4 or 5 to commit to buy it in order to do a run of twenty. I sent James an email asking if he would mind if I put his email address on this website but got no response.

Count me in for one for my 1990 Testarossa, I think that it looks great.

I stand corrected. IMHO its worth it especially if your TR is black. But mine is white and I like white Gob Dammit! Besides I already spent my party money on the clutch.

    Kurt,

Let's both contact James and get this thing rolling. My TR isn't complete until I have one of these covers ;)

    Thanks

OK, I talked with James and he said the price still stands at $1800. Unfortunately he's looking for another carbon fiber company and he hopes their pricing won't effect the final pricing. I told James I would help him in locating a carbon fiber company if needed (which I do know one). He said he'll start working on getting things going next week. That's Great news!

will the sun UV rays damage anything in the engine bay? I know UV rays degrade rubber and whatnot.

I don't why UV would damage anything in the engine. Several of the later model Ferrari's and Lamborghini's have the "engine under glass". Plus, if the car isn't stored outside, then it shouldn't be an issue anyway.

Hopefully, enough people will be interested in putting together a large enough order to make it happen. It's easily reversible too and only takes five minutes to install, four existing bolts, plug in brake light wire.

The brake light is longer and the cover is lighter in weight than the original

I think mine is ten years old and it modernizes and updates the look of the TR

Since we have confirmed that the price is $1800, out of curiosity, how many people do we have that are interested in getting one of these?
    Thanks,
    Kurt

That doesn't look like the engine cover I bought from Norwood.

Both the glass size and brake light is much smaller on your cover, which does look nice though.

You can see more of the engine with the Norwood cover.

My brake light is not as recessed either. Your's is the OEM brake light: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/141283075-post95.html
