This guy posted on here over a year ago claiming to have this car. I've spoken to him several times on the phone. He is a title loan company in Miami and basically obtained the car via a repo on the title loan he had given the previous owner. His grammar and lack of photos lead many to believe he was a fraud and the moderator threatened to lock his account if he didn't prove his claims. I guess he got the last laugh.
The real question is is it is the real deal. That was the big question that was never answered fully to me. PDG
Well now...... Last laugh indeed. It looks like he finally got his ducks in a row. I would get conformation from Universal Studios and verify the Sheldon receipts. If all checked out.......Congrats to him. No need to apologize Jeremy, its not like you asked a differential question.
That car will be needing a new Diff any second. I used to watch all the re-runs back in high school. Both of those cars have been clutch-dumped to high heaven!
So now the guy has gone to the trouble of faking a bunch of emails, records etc...what do you need Don Johnson's DNA from the seat?
I believe this car was used for the interior shots when Crockett and Tubbs were driving. I believe there is a picture floating around of this car with the front panels removed and camera rigging equipment all over it. As good as the exterior pictures look I'm sure upon close up inspection it may need a lot of love to be made worthy of a price even one quarter the asking price.
Wasn't there the Miami Vice car at the Beverly Hills gathering a few months ago? I guess it is the other (1 of 2)?
Yup... Miami Vice Testarossa at Beverly Hills event Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That car appears to have tan interior. The MV cars had cream interior with black dash, not the typical brown.
It was reported as the Miami Vice car by FNA/FCA. I just took the pictures. Should have taken a pic of the placard.
Could be the one from the swap shop. The owner is very big into racing and owns many classic Ferrari's and brings them to lots of FCA events.
I have to believe it is the real deal. To get a car staged on Rodeo that day "behind the ropes", you had to be a somebody with a noteworthy car. A good detail job won't cut it. A number of cars came from Europe for the event....Florida is a piece of cake. My vote is real deal. The maroon Superamerica next to the TR in the picture belongs to Don Murray out of Laguna Beach.
