When is Goodyear going to make the eagles for the Testarossa again? Surely there is a demand for the TransAms and Testarossa crowd ? Anyone have access to someone within good year that would listen and maybe bring back production for this tire. I know I would be buying 4 tires for my car. Anyone else ? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9doD25_ENZ8
If their competitor can make the XWX and TRX run, why can't Goodyear make a batch run of the eagles every 5 yrs ? Anyone have a contact at Goodyear to put a bug in there ear? Btw Sam, what a great looking picture
Older Goodyear tires are reproduced for some cars like the Polyglas GT for the muscle cars. I also think the Radial GT for the Corvettes 70s and 80s is available. There must be way to make it happen.
While you are at it, can you get me some Goodyear NCTS for my lotus esprit? Goodyear needs to support us better.
Pirelli make occasionnal run of the Countach tires I can't see why others could do the same. But there is a price to pay. The last time I heard the rear CT tires were $800 a piece. They were the same on my Pantera :-(
The Goodyears were not a very good tire by the standards of 1990, by todays standard they are crap. The BFG Sport Comp2 is superior and costs less than $450 for a full set.
Those of us that want the good year are going for the period correct look. Not sure why they won't make a batch of them yet, but I would like to speak to someone at good year.
Agreed BFG a pretty good tire with controlable break away charateristics. Goodyears when the liit comes its like blammo and you are on ice.
I like the performance and the look of the BFG Sport Comp 2...very simple vintage sidewall design that looks like it belongs on a TR.
I thought Ferrari fitted the Michelin Pilot Sport in Europe. Does anyone know if this is correct? Image Unavailable, Please Login
The SPC doesn't break it out by market but US market cars (and maybe Canadian) definitely had Goodyear tires and (AFAIK) non-US cars were fitted with the Michelins.
