If you consider that only 500 Ms were built then perhaps that makes sense.

Darius, there is a lot of difference between asking and getting ....

It is a way of advertising for sure but they imo will never get this idiotic price !

Which BB model do you compare with? - I do not think that the 512M ever will be worth more than the 365BB - which also are even more rare than the 512M.

    512BB for sure.
I agree the price sounds wild, but you could say the same for so many cars/art/investments of passion. For these cars surely are art.
More specifically I have been slightly lazily in the market for a F512M (or two) for a year or so. One got away in Switzerland last spring up for 130k SFR ish. One up for 215k euros in Belgium, November, sold within days. Two up for 250k euros this month, sold within days, or at least I assume so as as offline and vendors not replying to my emails. Now this, up for 300k euros. Vendor insists its his final price...
There's Giallo one in Belgium also now, POA, I enquired and its 250k, car not ideal for me as prefer these in Rosso and didn't quite check out for me. I also really like the recaros on these as an option.
I don't know what the sale price of any of these was, we only have the December London auction sale of an ex Japan car to go on, I don't have the page to hand as am travelling but I believe it was 155-165k GBP ex premium or so, which is around 210-220k euros.
I wouldn't buy this car because it has too many km and the ad annoys me but that's personal preference! I wonder if someone will.
But am I confident of finding a good F512M for less than 250k euros? Hell no.
Wonder what prices are like Stateside?

since those bb's in arizona went for about $350k, and the value of the euro is about 1.12 today, i dont think this 512m is more than the current value of a well sorted bb of any kind.

F512M's $300-425k currently although I know off a 2k mile car where offers to the owner were in a $600k range.

Come on now, it's not that bad! The 355 is loved so why can't the F512M be loved too?

I personally like pop-up lights, but there are those that don't and think it makes the car look dated i.e. old car. TR's and Diablos got the face lift to make them appear more modern. There are 31 flavors of ice cream for a reason...

    To each his own.
I remember going down to Ferrari Dallas when they were on 75 and James Dunne would let me just stand in front of the car in my work jeans and drool.

    512M more popular then BB?
That would need car desing to stand time, ie. car would need to look timeles, as fresh as it came out from factory att day one, as it would look that 40 -years after. So big question is; does 512M do that?

Boxers are last hand built Ferrari...when market settles and corrects (it always does) TRUE values for all cars will emerge...and Boxer will be recognized as such OVER the 512...I own a boxer and TESTAROSSA...I LOVE the 512M as I have driven a few but it does not compare to the raw connected feel of a boxer....Stuart
