1986 Testarossa Pouch & Manuals

Jim, here's what I think you would need for a full set of "books" for a US-spec 1986 Testarossa:

- Owners Manual: 1986 US version (cat. 451/86)
- Owners Warranty and Service book (cat. 434/86)
- Sale and Service Organization (cat. 408/86)
- Testarossa Consumer Information booklet-US (cat. 358/85)
- Goodyear Highway Tire Adjustment Policy (PN M2000, May 84)
- California Emission Control Warranty Statement (if car was sold new in CA) (cat. 450/86)

The "cat #" is the Ferrari CATalog number, a unique number assigned to each document. Many also had traditional Ferrari PNs but I don't have them listed for the above.

Also, being an early 1986, your car may have been delivered with some late 1985 manuals. The small database I have does not list date of publication for many of the books, including those above so I can't give you much guidance.

So I think the documents I listed above constitute a full "set" of books but I don't guarantee the catalog numbers are accurate (I don't think most judges would look that closely anyway). The leather pouches are on eBay all the time for various prices--shoudn't be a problem finding one of those. Good luck with your search

If you are concerned for concours reasons all we require is the correct owners manual (reprint OK) the dealer network book (again reprint OK) and the Service/Warranty book for THAT car. If you have a correct Service/Warranty book that is not for your car (it has VIN etc inside) it is a minor deduction.

 

Should be able to get a reprint OM from Ferrari

 

That is the price of the cars going up in value. Everything follows, parts, service etc.

Can't have one without the other.

 

I see the correct pouches on eBay quite often. I'm not 100% sure about 1986 but AFAIK it is the same as mine (1988). It has a cavallino in the RH front corner, heat pressed in. Also, on the inside it has the Schedoni stamp on the bottom left. The lining is a brown silk-like material.

I also have a newer pouch I bought last year (used/OEM). It differs in that the cavallino is a bit smaller, the inside has the same Schedoni stamp but also has imprinted "per FERRRARI" right next to the stamp, and the lining is lighter in color. Perhaps a Schedoni replacement or available direct from them.

The more recent pouches also often have a loop for a flashlight in the center (I think from F360 >), and many have a raised cavallino (vs. pressed in). There are aftermarket pouches being made and I don't think they are stamped Shedoni (nor made by Schedoni). Anyway, keep your eyes open, you'll find one. The books are a little harder to find and as you see now, carry a price. Like Brian says, unless you can locate your original warranty book you will have a markdown, so having everything else 100% correct may be a waste of $$ and time...unless it matters a lot to you.
