I'm about to send me TR in for major service and was going to get the diff upgraded based on suggestions from folks on this forum.

Maybe I'm missing something that is staring me right in the face. Is there a thread/post where the different vendor options are listed? Any favorites?

Thanks guys. I missed it indeed. :)

Mel - I had posted a couple of pictures on another introduction thread when I first got the TR. Here is a picture of it again. Not like one needs an excuse to look at a TR.

Oh. I thinking about the forza part from the UK. The Newman one from CA would have been easier given that I'm in the U.S. But they appear to be sold out. When the car goes in to Ferrari for service in May that's what I will be asking them to order.

Did you try Competizione and sports cars? He had some of the Newman in stock.

    BIG mistake !!!

Do you think that ANY Ferrari garage will dare order a non-oem part for you ? NEVER !

Only if you bring them the part they will put it in ... no other way because the factory would take their F license away.

So .... get in the mail to ForzaComponents and ask if they still have one ...

Updating thread. Its been while had the car gone in for its major and diff upgrade. Finally have had it back for over a month now.

Very pleased with the way the car drives now and couldn't be happier with the work done by Mark, Grant and Cameron at Ferrari of Seattle.

Attaching some pictures here as well.

Great news. How was the original diff in there? Did it show any signs of weakness? cracks? Just curious. I need to take care of mine.

The original looked ok. No specific signs of fatigue or failure. I ended up saving it and keeping it as a souvenir.

Hope you fitted a new quill shaft to go along with your diff upgrade? Given the polished wear mark I can see on your original quill shaft it appears to be overdue for a change. Good news is that it's a super easy job to change the quill shaft with the engine in the car if the quill shaft is not broken.

If it breaks on you than all sorts of pain will come your way.

If you didn't change it, then this might be for you.

    After nearly a year on back order, today I collected a new batch of 365 / 512 / Testarossa / 512TR / 512M quill shafts.

Three are already spoken for and tonight are on their way to Europe, so if you are considering a diff / quill shaft upgrade, then it's time to grab one of these whilst you can. These are the best shafts available for your car. Even with the decline in the Ozzie dollar and with an increase in steel prices across the World, I can still offer these shafts for $1800 USD plus freight to your part of the World.

These shafts were first fitted to racing 512BBi LM's back when they were circuit racing in Europe. They were constantly snapping shafts and one fitted with one of these fantastic 19mm upgrade shafts, they never did another one. Others found their way into the racing 512M's in 1996 and have since been fitted to numerous models including 365's, 512's, a 512BBi LM currently being raced in the USA, many Testarossa's and 512TR's and even a Koenig Twin Turbo Testarossa.
